A Student Visa allows international students to study in the United States at accredited schools, colleges, or universities. The most common types are:

  • F-1 Visa: For academic studies (universities, colleges, language programs)

  • M-1 Visa: For vocational or technical training programs

How to Apply for a Student Visa

  1. Get Accepted by a School
    Apply and receive admission from a SEVP-approved institution.

  2. Receive Form I-20
    The school issues Form I-20 after acceptance.

  3. Pay SEVIS Fee
    Pay the SEVIS I-901 fee before applying for the visa.

  4. Complete DS-160 Form
    Fill out the online non-immigrant visa application.

  5. Pay Visa Application Fee
    Pay the required visa fee.

  6. Schedule Embassy Interview
    Book an appointment at a U.S. embassy or consulate.

  7. Attend Visa Interview
    Answer questions about your study plans, finances, and intent to return home.

Who Can Apply for a U.S. Student Visa?
Anyone who wishes to study in the United States can apply for a student visa, provided they meet the required conditions.
